Koome Island is located in Mukono District, in north western Lake Victoria, in Central Uganda. It is one of the 84 islands in the Ssese Islands archipelago and constitutes Kalangala District.
The islands lie in two main groups, the north eastern group and the south western group, separated by the Koome Channel.
Koome is the largest island in the north eastern park of Lake Victoria. It’s more visit able for Honeymooners that wish to experience the true African Fishermen Culture and practices.
It has one Health centre called Koome Health Centre III. Tourism Booms there at Koome Island, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. ‘
